Once a year they have cuture night in Oslo where they have over a 100 events you can take part in, from museums to free food from around the world, to concernts. Most of the activities are for free, to encourage people to take part. I met up with my sister Heidi & kids and went to "Acrobatic school" and some drama shows. The kids got to very entertaining puppet show (with all types of puppets- real fun), and then with the help of instructers they hung and twisted like acrobats. They had a blast! The activities end with firecrackers from city hall. Here are some pix.. more coming...

It's so true, children are a reflection of their parents & we can often see ourselves in them. There are certain times during the day when there is more stress- getting 4 kids out the door in the morning to school, finishing homework in time for bed, etc. I have been struggling with getting frustrated & then end up getting impatient with the kids. This morning I made an effort to be calm, and it worked right away- they were better behaved. I knew this, but I haven't been able to make the effort- I have been reacting to situations, instead of taking the time to think about what to do.

Vanessa started school this year- 18th Aug. She's been looking forward to it for the last year. We tried to get her in last year, but here in Norway, even if the kid is a genious, they don't let them start til they've turned 6- as they feel they feel it'll affect a different part of their development if they start too soon.

This is Chris, just opened a blog today. Saw all the beautiful and fun blogs from others and thought it would be a nice way to let people know about what's up.

Andrey & I are living in Norway right now- have been since spring 2006. Andrey is getting his citizenship while we're here. It's a change from living in Ukraine with others and the work that we did there. Our kids go to a private Christian school here- the same one my brothers and sisters went to, & where I did 1 year of high school.

I have a facebook account with a bunch of pix- if any of you have facebook.

Well, that's all for the first post. Will also add some pix.
