Andrey will be taking a trip to Ukraine.. leaving tomorrow morning. It's been 1,5 years since he last visited. Since he works with SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) he gets up to 80% discount on flights. If all goes well, the next trip will be in December with 1 or more of the kids. He'll be surprising his family- only his brother knows about the visit.

First snow fall

So yesterday came the first snow! Beautiful! But it caused a lot of problems. As civilized as Norway is, and being a colder northern country, you'd think they'd be prepared for it. But no. Buses were hours late as they were parked waiting to change to winter tires. Thankfully we were just 1 hour delayed.. but others had to wait 2 hours for a bus.

Home sick with the kids
It's strange, but since moving to Norway, the kids & I & Andrey have been more sick than we ever were. I have had problems with my tonsils, even booking an operation cause they got so bad during the summer.. but have cancelled for now. The kids hadn't had any childhood sicknesses (chicken pox, etc.) while living in Ukraine, but the after just a few months here they got their first one.
I love autumn
Autumn is one of my favourite times of the year.. the crisp air, smell of wood burning fireplaces, the gorgeous colors on the leaves, and the nostalgic feeling. Even though autumn includes grey and gloomy days, rainy weather, I think it's cozy. It always gets me thinking back. Last year we lived in a row-house with a fire place, and it was this time of the year that I would come home after a full day, and look forward to making a fire, and lighting some candles. Outside was cold and dark and wet, but inside warm and cozy.
